Prof Emily Chan, CCOUC Director and a visiting scholar of the Harvard FXB Center for Health and Human Rights, was invited to share her experience and insights on building up health and disaster risk reduction programmes in Asia-Pacific Region at the Work in Progress (WIP) Talk of the FXB Center on 8 February 2018.
During the session entitled “Building Bottom-up Health and Disaster Risk Reduction Programmes”, Prof Chan talked about her unique experience in building up health and disaster risk reduction programmes in Asia-Pacific Region as well as the pivotal role of the bottom-up approach. She concluded her talk by highlighting the upcoming themes of health and disaster risk reduction programmes. After the WIP series talk, Ms Carol Wong, Programme Manager of CCOUC, introduced to the students and members of the FXB Center the opportunity to participate in the CCOUC field training programme in Jilin Province of China in June.
Apart from the WIP talk, the 2-person team also met Prof Michelle A. Williams, Dean of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, to explore future collaborations in student exchange programmes.
