A 8-person team from the Tibetan Medical College visited the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) for academic exchange with CCOUC on 11 November 2016. The visit was facilitated by the China Tibetan Children Health and Education Fund.
During the visit, CCOUC representatives introduced CCOUC’s research, education and knowledge transfer work. In particular, we shared our experience in conducting health education for female teenagers on menstrual hygiene in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. The representatives from Tibetan Medical College acknowledged the challenges and difficulties our team encountered in the implementation of health programmes in the Tibetan Plateau, and suggested ways to cope with these problems. They also shared with the team the history of traditional Tibetan medicine and the background of the Tibetan Medical College.
At the end of the visit, both parties discussed the potential collaboration areas between CCOUC and Tibetan Medical College in the future.
