Being the Sphere Focal Point in China, CCOUC sent a team led by Project Manager Mr. Aman Yee to participate in a 2-day forum for Sphere Focal Points (SFPs) in Asia from 14-15th October 2014. The forum held in Bangkok of Thailand was organized by Church World Service-Pakistan/ Afghanistan (Regional Focal Point) and The Sphere Project.
This forum was an opportunity for SFPs to build and strengthen the Sphere Country Focal Point network in the region. The objectives of the forum are to reaffirm and enhance learning, sharing and regional collaboration in Asia; to provide updates on future strategy and approach of Sphere Project; and to identify key common challenges, lessons learned and best practices amongst SFPs and Sphere practitioners. CCOUC took the chance to share updates of our activities and future plans on promoting Sphere Standards in China, and give an overview of the country’s humanitarian context. Representatives from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Sri Lanka participated in this forum.
