The 21st IRDR Science Committee Meeting

Ms Gloria Chan, CCOUC Deputy Director, and colleague, Ms Asta Man, attended the 21st Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) Science Committee Meeting at the Norwegian Refugee Council, Geneva on 14 May 2019. The meeting was held to introduce the new Science Committee Chair, Prof John Handmer, present progress reports of the International Programme Office (IPO) and the working groups, along with discussion of future action points of IRDR. Representatives of the International Science Council, IRDR Young Scientists, and International Centres of Excellence (ICoEs) were also in attendance. The discussion of a 10-year publication was proposed to summarize IRDR’s works in the last decade, including reflections from current and former Science Committee members and best practices of the various working groups and ICoEs.
