A training workshop for a delegation of Guizhou provincial Red Cross with the theme of capacity building for emergency management was organised by CCOUC on 18 Dec 2017 at SPHPC. Mr CHIU Cheuk Pong, a registered nurse at CCOUC, held a sharing session on “Strategy and Management of Disaster and Emergency Humanitarian Response”. Before joining CCOUC, Mr Chiu was a registered field worker for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Hong Kong and actively involved in a number of international humanitarian missions, such as Ebola outbreak in western Africa and humanitarian crisis in Yemen. During the session, Mr Chiu introduced the Hong Kong emergency response system, the minimum standards in humanitarian response of the Sphere Project and current key working projects of CCOUC. He also shared his firsthand frontline health emergency response and project management experience with the Guizhou delegation.
