World NGO Day 2023

In anticipation of the World NGO Day on 27 February, CCOUC participated in a World NGO Day Event “A Glimpse into The Cataract Blindness Elimination Project” organised by its NGO partner GX Foundation on 22 February 2023.

The activity aimed to enhance local secondary school students’ knowledge of international humanitarian work by sharing with them GX’s international medical humanitarian work, including connecting the 29 students from 7 local secondary school to GX’s humanitarian cataract blindness elimination work in Djibouti, Laos and Cambodia via virtual meeting. In addition to the keynote speech by CCOUC Director Prof Emily Chan, CCOUC contributed by hosting a booth in the event to introduce its medical humanitarian training for tertiary students and volunteers.
