Disaster First Aid Training in Guangxi

On 22 April 2012, a one-day basic first aid training for volunteers was held in Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi Province. Thirty one participants from local NGOs attended the training. Lectures with hands-on training sessions were conducted, which covered a range of basic first aid topics, including general anatomy, airway/breathing management, choking, bleeding control, wound treatment, fracture, and splinting. This training was part of the “Training-of-Trainers of Evidence-Based Health and Humanitarian Response to Field Practitioners” programme, which promotes knowledge transfer to volunteers in the field of disaster and emergency.
