Health Needs Assessment trip to Xishuangbanna of Yunnan

 

CCOUC team visited rural hilly Manbangtang Village （曼蚌汤村）in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture （西双版纳傣族自治州）, southwestern Yunnan Province on 26-30 November 2014 to assess the health needs of the community, and prepare for further visits in the coming year. The Prefecture located in the southern border of Yunnan Province adjacent to the Golden Triangle border area of Myanmar, Laos and Thailand. All villagers in the community we visited in Manbangtang Village belong to the Bulang Kunge ethnic group （布朗-昆格族）- one of the minority groups of small population within the Prefecture. Through household questionnaire survey and key stakeholders interviews, the team has collected information related to health situations and needs of the community. This trip was organized with the support of the Prefecture Center for Disease Control and Prevention （州疾控中心）, and Mangyang Township Health Centre （勐养镇卫生院）.
